John G. King

Mr. King is a recognized leader in healthcare systems management. He has served as the CEO of three healthcare delivery organizations: Legacy Health System, Portland, Oregon; EHS (now Advocate), Chicago; and Holy Cross Health System, South Bend.

Under Mr. King's leadership, from 1991-1999, Legacy gained recognition for its organizational leadership and excellence. Legacy received the Women In Communications' Vanguard Award for advancing women in management. Legacy is the only health organization in Oregon to receive the Oregon Quality Award. The top ten employers list in Oregon always includes Legacy. Portland is known for collaborative efforts with competitors to improve community health and Legacy helped found Oregon Health Systems in Collaboration. Legacy received its AA bond rating in December 1998.

Mr. King is a past Chairman of the American Hospital Association [AHA] Board of Trustees. He is currently a Director of two publicly traded companies: Misys, a London based software company and Allscripts-Misys, Chicago. He is a trustee of Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. Mr. King is past Chairman of The Health Forum, and is a board member of the AHA Center for Healthcare Governance Board of Managers.

Mr. King is recipient of the AHA Distinguished Service Award in 2005, a Special Leadership Award from The Health Forum in 2006, Jewish National Fund's Tree of Life Award, the ACHE Regent's Quality in Healthcare Award and Healthcare Executive of the Year by B'nai B'rith of New York in 1999. Mr. King received the James A. Hamilton Award from the University of Minnesota.

Mr. King has published numerous articles or monographs, the most recent entitled "Trust Counts Now," a special study conducted for and published by the American Hospital Association.

Mr. King was educated at Dartmouth College and received his MHA at the University of Minnesota. Mr. King resides with his wife, Jane, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
