Leesa L. Bain

Leesa L. Bain, RN, BSN, MHA is President and owner of HC3-Healthcare Consulting of the Carolinas Inc., which specializes in results oriented services to: Healthcare systems, Hospitals, Hospital Associations, Hospital Boards, Physician Practices.

Improving quality of care and patient safety are the cornerstones of services offered. Improvement strategies offered include:

  • Comprehensive assessment and recommendations of existing quality and safety programs
  • Board, C-Suite, and middle manager education/retreats
  • Dashboard Development: develop standards, produce data and create a feedback system for improving care
  • Core Measure Program Development
  • Quality Strategic Plan Development and Execution

Leesa brings passion, enthusiasm and a strong clinical and seasoned administrative background. Her systematic approach to achieving optimal quality outcomes is Board directed, clinician led and data driven.

As a recent Vice President of Quality for over 10 years at a large, not for profit hospital, Leesa led the Senior Management team, medical staff and Board in developing the strategy and execution of a successful clinical quality program. She led the facility to achieve recognition and significant accomplishments by becoming the only hospital in North Carolina to achieve the 100 Top Performing hospital status for 4 consecutive years, and achieving top 10% in performance on the core measures in the first year. Her administrative leadership role also included leading and building the Hospitalist program (20 physicians), the Intensivist program, Outpatient Disease Management, Case Management and Endoscopy programs. Having served in a number of volunteer and leadership roles, she has served on the boards of NorthEast Medical Center, Advanced Home Care, Hospice of Cabarrus County, NC Community Care Plan, and has served as a guest lecturer at the collegiate level.

Today, Leesa consults with a variety of healthcare organizations to create customized approaches and strategies to maximize clinical outcomes. Initiatives such as leading executive teams in quality strategic planning and execution, launching corporate culture change initiatives, creating organization-wide alignment and execution of quality goals and Board education.

Prior to hospital administration, Leesa's career was grounded in case management, business development for two privately owned and national case management companies, nursing management and bedside nursing.
