Marc Halley

Marc Halley, MBA, is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Halley Consulting Group, LLC. Halley Consulting Group is the culmination of twenty years of providing practice management and consulting services to medical practices. He has worked with a variety of practices of many specialties, including hospital-owned primary care networks.

Marc is a frequently requested speaker and lecturer, addressing governing boards, senior executives, physician groups, management teams and national organizations including the Healthcare Financial Management Association, Medical Group Management Association, various state hospital associations, the Catholic Health Association and many more.

Marc is the author of several books on the operation of physician practices including The Primary Care Market Share Connection: How Hospitals Achieve Competitive Advantage, Health Administration Press March, 2007. Marc suggests that in order to capture and retain market share, hospitals and their specialists must seek to control referrals by employing or affiliating with successful primary care practices.

The Medical Practice Start Up Guide, Greenbranch Publishing, July, 2008, is another one of Marc's books. It is a must read for physicians who are starting a practice or considering joining one. The book provides clear guidance for avoiding frustrations and costly mistakes in start-up and management decisions.

Marc was also a contributor, in 2007, to The Business of Healthcare, and he has authored and co-authored several articles that have been published in industry publications such as Healthcare Financial Management and the Journal of Medical Practice Management.
