Jack A. Gilbert

Dr. Jack Gilbert is director of the Consortium for Innovation Leadership for Health Outcomes at Health Outcomes @ ASU, and director of the Master of Healthcare Innovation program in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation and clinical associate professor, at Arizona State University (ASU). He is a noted expert in innovation leadership, organizational and personal integrity, and large-scale change. He is also a highly rated presenter and keynote speaker.

Among other roles Jack has been an administrative department head at a 600 bed hospital and an organizational consultant for clients in many fields within and beyond health care. He came to ASU in 2009.

Jack's latest book, co-authored with Barbara Balik, The Heart of Leadership: Inspiration and Practical Guidance for Transforming Your Health Care Organization was published by the American Hospital Association (AHA) Press in 2010. He also authored Ethical Wisdom: Tools for Transforming Your Health Care Organization published in 2007 and the award winning Productivity Management: A Step by Step Guide for Health Care Professionals both published by AHA Press. He is also the author of Gilbert's Fables published in 2009.

Jack holds his doctorate from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where his dissertation focused on the role of ethics in decision-making for senior executives. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and in 2008 received the College's Service Award.
